Frassati Catholic Young Adults is going canoeing/kayaking on Union Bay! We’ll start with Mass and then rent canoes/kayaks from the University of Washington Waterfront Activities Center (WAC), and paddle around the arboretum. (RSVP will be available about 4 weeks prior to the event)
Timeline:
9:45am Mass at UW Newman or beside the lake (TBD)
10:45am Meet at WAC Center: 3710 Montlake Blvd NE, Seattle, WA 98195
11:00am Begin paddling.
1pm End.

Bring a sandwich, sunscreen, and drinking water. (Note, the WAC center does not have food available).
Meet for 9:45 am Mass at UW Newman Center. After Mass, we’ll head over and meet at the WAC
10:45 am Meet at WAC to rent 2-person canoes or 1-person kayaks, and should be done by 1pm (2 hrs on the water). Cost: $16/hr for canoe, or $19/hr for kayak. (Note: The WAC does not take group reservations and operates on a first-come basis). WAC will have "individuals" pay only when they return the canoe; if two people are sharing a canoe, one person could Venmo the other to split the cost. Credit Cards are accepted at the WAC.
PFDs (life jackets) and paddles are supplied with every rental, but the WAC center encourages patrons to bring their own Type I, II, or III PFD. PFDs (life jackets) must be worn and buckled at all times while in our boats. Boaters and personal items taken aboard will get wet; please plan accordingly. They have a limited number of dry bags available for rent ($2.00). They have a limited number of day-use lockers available for rent ($2.00) for those not wanting to take valuables on the boat. Sunscreen is available for sale ($2.50)
