Celebrating Br. Paschal (special Lumen talk & celebration)

  • Prince of Peace Catholic Newman Center 4502 20th Avenue Northeast Seattle, WA, 98105 United States (map)

Join us for a special celebration honoring Br. Paschal Strader O.P. as he concludes his initial formation studies as a Dominican Friar! All are invited to commemorate this milestone (students and everyone else), which will begin at 7pm when he will be sharing a talk on "The Existence of God: Aquinas and Astrophysics," blending his expertise with his PhD in Astrophysics with his Dominican education in philosophy and theology (see his description below).

The evening will commence with Brother Paschal's enlightening talk, followed by a compline prayer at the Newman Chapel, and concluding with a joyful celebration in St. Dominic’s Hall.

*** If you plan to leave before 10:30PM, you MUST park at UW parking lot N5 (5 min walk away), or else your car will be double parked in.

RSVP is not required

“Br. Paschal will present and discuss two arguments for the existence of God.  One is a modern one based on the recent observation that if the laws of physics were slightly different from what they are, life could not exist anywhere in the universe.  The second is much older but starts with the question, why do things follow laws of physics at all?”
