Thursday Night Update

A lot of things have been happening at the Newman Center as of late. Small groups, Veritas, Frassati, and much more all of which have been very lively, fun, and successful. Speaking with some Newmanites that attended the retreat hosted by Frassati this past weekend, it sounded like everyone enjoyed themselves and listened to some pretty inspiring talks. If you are a young adult or grad in the Seattle area, definitely check out the Frassati program.

If you are an undergrad, the Veritas program is for you. We have been having prayer, praise and worship, and having guest speakers come in to share their experiences with us and it has been very powerful. Skip Li spoke to us last week about his life experiences and God’s plan for him. He told us that nothing was wasted and that he had confidence in God’s plan for him even during the difficult times. God speaks to us in different ways and sometimes there are moments that were meant for us. God speaks through different people at different times but unless you are active in seeking God through prayer and other opportunities, life might seem a little empty at times. This is why we have places like the Newman Center where people can help with friendship, faith, and other things.

Tonight Dr. Pia de Solenni is speaking about Catholic feminism in a talk titled: “Does the Church Hate Women?” Dr. Pia de Solenni is an ethnic and cultural analyst, owner of a consulting company, and expert in women’s health, the new feminism, Catholicism, and culture. This talk is open to anyone who is interested in attending. If you are reading this and do not have anything going on at 7:30 PM tonight, then you should join us. If you do have plans, cancel them and come along! This talk is open to anyone of any age.

Have a good week!
